Hi Giulia, You should start a list here in the comments, writing some false friends you think are interesting, unknown, or the most common mistakes we make.

I think we've all had a few embarrassing mistakes with false friends - I can remember digging myself a hole with morbid vs morbido, almost scalding myself with caldo vs cold, and a particularly embarrassing one with food additives!
There's a useful glossary of Italian-English false friends by clicking on the link for my name here - hope it helps you avoid some of the more cringe-worthy ones!

Thank you kindly for the useful link, Alex. Would you like to share anything else with us?

There's nothing else that I can think of for now for false friends, but I'll try to check back here in the future and contribute if there's anything useful!

Oh wow, I didn't expect such a quick response. Thank you! I didn't mean that you had to contribute any more on false friends, but about anything in general that could be helpful.
Where are you writing from?

From Milan :) The Monty Python videos might give me some inspiration, though there's not much coming to mind at the moment except some great mind-mapping software that I was playing around with this morning available on the iPad, and a free virtual whiteboard website from GE that I've been trying to find again that was fantastic for videoconferencing.
I'll try to check by as often as I can though, Alex
